Right of withdrawal for digital content
Consumers generally have a statutory right of withdrawal.
However, in contracts for the delivery of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g., software downloads, game keys), the right of withdrawal expires prematurely if:
- we have begun the performance of the contract and
- you have expressly agreed that we commence performance of the contract before the expiry of the withdrawal period, and
- you have confirmed your knowledge that by giving your consent, you lose your right of withdrawal upon the commencement of the performance of the contract.
By completing the purchase of a digital product (e.g., a game key), you expressly agree that we commence performance of the contract before the expiry of the withdrawal period. You also confirm that you are aware that you lose your right of withdrawal upon the commencement of the performance of the contract.
Therefore, a withdrawal is no longer possible after the digital content has been made available.
This applies in particular to the immediate provision of download content or digital activation keys (e.g., Steam keys).
