Further Development of a Classic

The GT8N originated in the 1990s as a further development of the proven GT6 series. By integrating a low-floor middle section, existing vehicles were converted into eight-axle trams, combining modern comfort with the robust technology of earlier generations.

More Capacity and Improved Passenger Flow

Thanks to its extended design, the GT8N offers more space for passengers and at the same time facilitates boarding and alighting. The low-floor area ensures better accessibility and makes the vehicle particularly suitable for heavily frequented lines in urban traffic.

Reliable in International Use

The GT8N is considered extremely reliable and was not only used in Mannheim. This vehicle type was also in regular service in cities such as Łódź in Poland and Helsinki in Finland. Through its versatility, its characteristic appearance, and its direct handling, the GT8N has secured a firm place in tram history.
